looks very very promising! I think that this next week we see our first step towards a cooler/wetter pattern. We will probably struggle to hit 60 all next week, as well as struggle to see any sunshine. Then the week after I feel that we are in for a major arctic outbreak!

If the GFS is correct, significant changes are in store for SE TX starting Sunday.

A trough will deepen over the southern plains, and moisture levels will increase as a coastal trough develops, and at the same time, it will be very cool.

Here is the 12Z GFS MOS guidance:
http://www.nws.noaa.gov/cgi-bin/mos/getmex.pl?sta=KIAH

Starting monday, temps will struggle to to reach 60, with highs stuck in the 50's thereafter. GFS rain chances are pretty high as well. If this all occurs, this will be a major change from our recent dry and warm pattern since before Christmas. Next week, I'd expect cloudy, cool, and possibly wet days, with highs in the mid to upper 50's, and lows in the 40's. The gloomy dreery days of January may be upon us!

I noticed that in our forecast too, looks wet and cool next week. We do need the rain to help out with the deficits over the area.
