A little sleet

#1 Postby Lowpressure » Thu Jan 05, 2006 8:18 pm

just started to fall here with frontal passage, temp down to 42.6. Must be nice and cold above us as 42 is pretty warm for sleet and the pellets were quite large. Temp down about 10 degrees in less than one hour and wind shift to NW and rather gusty. No mention of sleet in the forecast, maybe a mix with light snow, but even that was highly doubted- we will see.

yeah we had some sleet here in houston about 3 weeks ago. It was the same type of thing...about 43 and sleeting. It never amounted to much here, but who knows; may be you guys will get lucky and see a change over to snow.

Now it is mostly cloudy and 40.5 and windy. No precip currently. Will not bore the site with obs unless they are frozen precip reports.
