I was curious as to why all the local mets in Raleigh NC in regards to this coming up weekends event all say different things
Some still say sleet, freezing rain and snow while others are saying that it will probably be all rain and there are also differences in the temps as far as the highs and lows. Is it cause they really don't have a clue as to what is going to happen this weekend. I've laso heard that the storm is weakening, any truth to this

That's because the models don't agree with each other. The Richmond area meteorologists keep saying things are really uncertain because of that. The ETA says the brunt of the storm is headed to PA and NJ, and the GFS says Virginia is going to get hit hardest. The two models seem to be converging to a DC solution, but they still differ by quite a bit. Conflicting forecasts make a storm interesting - they indicate something is wrong with some of the models and the actual events will tell which.
