OBS from Southern Illinois

#1 Postby silwx79 » Mon Jan 26, 2004 10:58 pm

I plan on being up tonight late, got the coffee pot on and a new pack of cigs. that being said I will post obs from Wayne County, inparticular Fairfield Illinois. I have been watching obs out of Paducah and Western Ky. they are having thunderstorms, w/ 33. I say to hell with the models. I think someone is going to get a suprise dump. While I doubt it is me, I will keep all of you informed if anyone is intrested. Just heard that Paducah is getting thundersnow. That will mess up there snow fall forecast of up to an inch. My guess is that sometime around midnight most places around here upgrade WWA to Winter Storm Warnings.

We had thunder w/freezing rain at 11:15 pm last night here just east of Evansville. Temp was 30º. It was sweet!
Then woke up to a grand total of 1/2" snow. :(

We never got out of a WWA, but all morning it looked like east of us toward Louisville got quite a bit of wraparound.
