Second Nowcast regarding the event/outlook for second event

#1 Postby Stormchaser16 » Sun Jan 25, 2004 9:10 pm

Well the precip is building into PA nicely now, however into most of NJ we are still being left out of the mix. The storm looks to be ending for most in NC and now parts of WV and VA. The western portion of the snowshield is now weakening as returns over Indiand/Ohio are showing a weakening of the shield. Parts of NJ may now have even less of a chance with the latest radar trends and very dry air in place. It will take awhile for alot of the precip to actually reach the ground. CNJ may only see 1-2" NNJ a dusting to an inch maybe 2" at best including NYC. SNJ including PHL may see 3-6".

For the next event, it looks to develop too late for many people. NYC north, yes, will get maybe a foot or more of snow. The rest of NJ maybe 3-6" but CNJ and SNJ will get ice and or maybe rain as well as the CAD gives way. The 12" may also back into NE PA as they remain cold and in the core of the precip. This looks to be a big hitter from NYC into SNE and up into BOX before the week is out.

That has been the story of the whole winter season. N NJ, SE NY (including NYC) and southern New England has been the prime place for snow along the I-95 corridor this year. I am just hoping beyond hope that storm 1 doesn't totally fizzle and storm 2 develops far enough south to bring my area more than a few inches of snow.

Yes, I have changed my mind since I wrote that post last night. And storm 1 did not completely fizzle. So all is good. 8-)
