Winter Weather Summary
POSTED: January 16, 2004 7:17 a.m.

Snow and ice overspread the Midwest

A plume of moisture rising up out of the southern Plains will overrun the cold air currently dominating the Upper Midwest tonight resulting in widespread snow and ice. Snow, sleet and freezing rain will cause havoc on roadways across northern and eastern Minnesota, northern and eastern Iowa, northern Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, southwestern Lower Michigan, western Ohio and northeastern Kentucky tonight. Roads will become icy and hazardous. Travel will be slow and treacherous. The snow and ice will spread into the Northeast tomorrow.
