......how would you rate it thus far??
For myself in EC FL it has been a veritable see-saw with high temps anywhere from the low 50s to low 80s,and nighttime lows from the upper 30s to upper 50s.......the last 1 or 2 Arctic fronts from the north , including the one coming thru next 2 days in the NE/MA, has yet to give me my first freeze of the season, and in fact expecting upper 60s to low 70s the next week or so, with chilly but not abominable nights in the 40s.
Unlike some of the recent forecasts I have seen for the very cold or frigid regime to continue, I think a week or so out from now the trough will retreat or shift westward and give the PLAINS/Tx area their turn at cold and snow. As it is, this polar jet has been basically glancing the NE US and only affecting less than 15-20pct or so of our land mass with the really intense cold. Pretty much from CHICAGO to ATL and westward to the Plains, it has been rather mild and snowless all winter long...but hopefully before the pattern change we can get a good Gulf system going to move up the coast for the snow lovers. :D

It's been an okay winter............we've had our share of Arctic cold. I'd really like to see some good snows here in N VA, but I can't complain about the cold, we've had really nice cold snaps here. :) :)

Nice winter so far, even if we have plain rain on Monday.

It's been a pretty good winter thus far, given that by Thursday morning my area will have received a total of 12 to 14 inches of snow for the season (8.5 seasonal total thus far, plus the 3 to 6 inches expected tomorrow night/Thursday morning). Which would put me at about half our seasonal norms. Plus there has been a decent amount of cold as well.

Around my area (Sioux City, IA), we have avoided every winter storm as yet... we have had 3 2" snowfalls and a dusting as the storm tracks have carried the bulk of the precipitation in every direction around us. Usually around here, March gives us some pretty good snows...guess that's what I will hold out for

Pretty nice winter by my standards. One 11" snowstorm in mid december, a green xmas, some mild spells, some extreme cold, a few 4-8" lake effect events, some weak advisory type systems. 54 or 55" so far, about 14" above normal. Not a ton of excitement, but enough changes to keep things interesting. Still I'd like more storminess, and more drastic changes, but I always want that. Also waiting for a big one. We average a 15" or greater storm every 2 years up here, and a 20" or greater every 5 years. It's been almost 5 years since both...25" on 3/4/99 and 18" on 3/6/99. I knew I would have to wait awhile after those events, so i'm trying to be patient. Snowstorms are not common events.

Not too shabby so far. We had about 5" of snow from the storm in December and hopefully we'll add another 5" from this one. It's been colder than what we can all remember in recent winters.

Here in North East Kansas and Western Missouri, it has been pretty boring-we have had the same amount of snow as last year (all in three days in December) and about 5 days of real cold (one morning a week ago was neg. 4 degrees) but all has been short lived with a quick return to mild-3 days after that neg.4, it was in the 50's and hasn't left yet!! 40's and 50's are forecasted for the next several days with some mets thinking our Winter will stay in hibernation-only time well tell-i'll reevaluate in March. Have a great day!!!
