Predict The Date

#1 Postby WEATHER53 » Mon Jan 05, 2004 3:35 pm

That DCA achieves a negative monthly average departure value. Thru Today DCA looks to be about +13/14 daily departure so far for the month. How long will it take to eat that away and return to a negative valuation?
I predict that the readings from Saturday 1/17/04 will do the trick and put the monthly average into the minus category. In case of a tie, which is probable, predict the high at DCA for your date of choice. I will go with 32 for a high at DCA on 1/17.
This contest entry will close at 12 noon on Tuesday 1/6.

It's still early January and I wouldn't be suprised if we end up if below avg temps for the month of January. It seems like the trough in the east will be there for a while.

Let's see - the date when DCA has a negative average temp departure for the month will be 1/15. The high temp on that day will be 33 degrees.

Bumper update. Looks like Friday or Saturday will indeed put DCA into negative monthly average.

Looks like I will end up a day or two early, and a few degrees too warm on my high temp guess for 1/15.
