How is everybody doing so far?

#1 Postby mdguy25 » Fri Dec 05, 2003 1:37 pm

Here in Baltimore average is around 6in.. Some as high as 10.. If this second storm dumps the expected 3-8, man places could be over a foot by tomorrow.. Amazing for this time of year

How are we doing?

Well we got 2.2 inches snow last night before the sleet mixed in. Turned to drizzle overnight. Today, 33 degrees and drizzle w/occasional light rain showers. Winds NNE at 5mph, G to 16. Ambient snow cover on ground is now 1.5 inches with some snow still on roads.

It's gone over to snow in Ashburn which is 30 miles NNW of Woodbridge/Dale City, where I live.

I just found out, Dale City is at 300 feet elevation.

Had about 3 inches of snow on the ground at 12:30 PM. Then we had a lull until about 30 minutes ago. Has really picked up since then and should likely be at 4 inches soon.

The rate has really picked up in the last 15-20 minutes. I just shoveled the front of my store less than an hour ago, and there's already more than an inch there. I'd say we're at about 3.5 to 4" so far.

And how's this for stubborn: I just checked TWC.com for the local forecast, and they're STILL only calling for less than an inch today. And it was just updated at 1:37!

Ditto what JCT said.

Shame they're not opening Spring Mountain until next week.

We had a nice shower this morning but that all melted away. I've been sitting here watching sleet for the last hour but we are just now changing back to all snow.

Agreed, and they have been making snow since Tuesday evening. With the natural snow we have gotten and will be getting through tomorrow, they should have plenty of snow. It would be nice if they could open tomorrow or Sunday. I would LOVE to be snow tubing.

Rob - sorry to hear that. Looks like you might be right with your snowfall prediction, unfortunately.

Well, all is said and done here in Iowa!! Brilliant blue skies and near 40° readings are putting a quick damper on my 3" backyard snowfall!! Ah well, there's always next time right??

Snow finally beginning to pick up in SW PA. In Fayette County moderate to heavy snow is falling and sticking to grass and pavement.

Greg - it does not look good for Richmond. I would think the most Richmond will get is an inch, if anything.
