Analog Worshipers get a slap in the face

#1 Postby Anonymous » Fri Dec 05, 2003 12:41 pm

I and some other people have been saying that trying to use one analog to try to forecast a year will never work. No 2 winters are alike. It took 4 days in DEC for that to comeback and haunt somebody. One person on this board rode 79-80 like there was no tommorow...and now they are shoveling snow...so best bet is to use a composite of analogs and keep your mind open to changes. Looks like this one person wore the 79-80 analog without giving consideration to anything else....That will lead to a bust...and dont be fooled by a bried warm up next week--More Cold is coming. The 79-80 Analog of Dec is Dead.

also---if there can be anything to compare this to it would be Dec 1960--where a Major Winter Storm came after a period of mild early winter weather.

but KA said so!!!!! He is GOD, he is never wrong!!!! They control the weather, if they say 1979-1980, then everything that has happened has fallen in line with that analog. There is no doubt, they are never wrong:)

Ji - looks like 1960 is a decent analog so far. But if you break down any winter, you can compare segments of it to a prior winter. IMO - on the whole, every year is unique and has no true analog.
