00z ETA

#1 Postby mathias1979 » Thu Dec 04, 2003 9:42 pm

Alrighty, WWBB down, but let's not let that stop us. What's everyone's thoughts on the 00z ETA. Trends further north, dryslotting NYC at 36 hours. Heavy band of precip further north into my area. Where that band sets up is gonna be critical. Been having the nasty feeling for the last day that it's gonna be over my area. Not looking forward to it considering I have to be on the road Saturday afternoon.

The dry slot sucks...been there and done it. I really can't read the models. Any insight, would be great.

The ETA does two things:

Continues the basic ideas we have been outlining for some time now...and secondly denounces the EC track. overall as far as my call is concerned...no changes.

RNS:

What are your feeling for precip start times in PA/NJ areas. What about a change over on Friday?

Thanks

No changeover for you...(mixed precip should stay confined to areas S/E of PHL)...and anytime after midnight tonight for the onset of precip.

I don't know much about reading models, but it sure seems like I'm fixing to get a decent amount of snow now. 7-12" possibly?

Good evening RNS, just took a quick look at the 00z ETA, and still looks pretty healthy QPF wise for the big cities. Is it safe to assume those QPF is mostly snow or is there rain involved? Not too good with temp profiles here, lol..

What do you think of the area in between DC and Baltimore RNS? (don't mean NW of the cities) from what I've seen on the models I'm thinking of 1-3 inches of slop from first event, and 4-8 inches from second event between late Friday night and mid afternoon Saturday

I/d go 4-8" based on the ETA and to allow for the uncertainty...right now.

This board is like a primative version of WWBB. This board is still in its "how much for philly" stage.
