What A Front!!!

#1 Postby dh1 » Mon Nov 24, 2003 10:49 am

8-) Cold front blew through NW Mississippi last evening accompanied by 40-50 mph gusts and a temp drop from the 70's to the upper 40's within a span of 30-40 minutes. This reminds me of the arctic fronts back when I was a kid in the 80's. Do the experts here think this will be the case down here this winter? I personally am feeling that it will be very interesting here especially if the air continues to plunge deep into texas and spread east. Some of our best storms have come from fronts that blow through stall and then low comes riding out of the gulf. Very interesting day to say the least. From the upper 70's to a low of 32 this am. What does everyone else think as to what will become of the midsouths winter?

It should be a pretty good winter in your area. You will probably get quite a few of these arctic fronts this winter, and you should get above normal snowfall - in my opinion.

Same here dh1. I am on the MS Coast. It is definitely nice to see some cold temps. But, it is expected to warm back up and rain on Thanksgiving. :(

That's how we get averages. Some days are warm, some days are cold, not many so called normal days here in Maryland. What's next, wearing flip flops in the snow??????? brrrrrrrrrrr.
