Possible SNOW event for the Ohio Valley.....................
Nov. 24th and Dec 2nd can hold SNOW event for the Ohio Valley.
I see a potential on those both days dumping several inches.
This could be the first time this year for them to see a small storm.
The models are indicating something to fall on those two days.........how much total is still unclear.

Well with this first system, the most snow the Ohio Valley will see is 1 inch, with maybe an occasional 2 inch report, but that is very doubtful. Snow will most likely not stick, as ground temperatures are very mild. I don't know where u are finding a couple of inches, cause nothing is advertising that and it just is not giong to happen. Only areas that might see more than 1 inch could be some of the traditional lake affect areas, but even lake effect snows are expected to remain very minimal. The bulk of the precip. will be out of the area before it changes over to snow, as the upper atmosphere will take time to cool. With the Dec. 2nd event, I have been following that system for a few days, and if you have you will know the models have had absolutely NO consistency with that system. This system is still quite a while away and the models will continue to flip-flop with it. This mornings models show us being very mild on Dec. 2nd with absolutely NO snow with that system and the 0 degree line as far noth as the United States Canadian border.

The first flakes falling in the southeastern Massachusetts usually don't occur until late November (around or on Thanksgiving Day) or the first week of December.
Boston's first few inches of snow, on average, occurs around December 4th.

Well, I do believe that December will be cold and snowy, but as far as a white X-mas, I don't know yet, it's too far out to tell..........

Maybe the 30th of November.............looks pretty good.
Then the temps will rise again.
We will have cold temps for at least 6 days and then mild temps move back in after the 30th.

As much as I want a white Christmas, I do not want an icy, snowy drive for the holidays. Mississippi roads bite when it's icy! I drove through there two years ago (or was it three?) and there was nothing but ice and fallen trees! Then I stopped for the night at around 1 AM because I wasn't getting anywhere fast and I needed to rest. Got up the next morning and crossed into Tennessee where everything was salted and plowed! MS and KY must have the same snowplan....non-existent!

Hello. I am new to this site, and wanted to reply to the forecast for winter weather in the Ohio Valley. I live in WV..some consider it Ohio Valley, other Mid-Atlantic... We had some weird weather on Monday November 24th. Started out at a beautiful 60 degrees and dropped into the low 30's. We had rain, sleet and snow all in one day. The prediction was right!!! Let's see what happens in December!!

Big welcome Lisa. Wild stuff in Maryland too Monday...
Welcome to storm2k Lisa. The weather was wild in Maryland on Monday also, no doubt about it. We were in the mid 60s for highs Monday afternoon. Just an amazing day even with the presence of more clouds than sun. There was some wild weather later in the day though, after sunset. It was 61 degrees in central Maryland at 6:45 PM EST Monday. At 7:30 PM EST Monday, temperature dropped to 47 degrees. We bottomed out at 40 on Monday evening before midnight and rain changed over to sleet for a time. The sleet combined with a northwest wind at 15-30 mph resulted in a sting right to the side of my face. It hurt indeed. Amazing it was 40 at the surface and sleet was falling. It's just proof of how cold it was aloft.
A mostly cloudy day today after sub freezing temps this morning in Maryland. Even here near the Chesapeake Bay, temps dropped below freezing at 30.
