Winter Weather Summary

Snow in the Pacific Northwest and Northern Rockies

Snow levels have risen early this morning in the Washington Cascades as a cold front is getting ready to come onshore. Heavy snow will fall above 6,000 feet today and tonight, bringing around a foot of new snow. Snow levels will lower to pass levels overnight, and several inches can accumulate by tomorrow morning at pass levels. Moisture has not reached the Oregon Cascades yet, but will do so by later tonight. Heavy snow is a possibility in the Oregon Cascades tomorrow.
Snow will set in across the mountains of northern Idaho and northwestern Montana later today and tonight. The most probable amounts of snow will be between 3-6 inches.
Wind will be problem throughout the northwest part of the country with gusts easily to 40 mph.
