weak El nino?

#1 Postby James5o4 » Sun Nov 09, 2003 12:32 am

just wondering.....for the northeast, people are predicting all different sorts of winter forecast. But mostly ive been hearing that it will be normal to slightly above normal snows in the nyc area. With the very weak el nino, does that change all the predictions? i know that last year was a weak to moderate el nino. Does this mean that we will have similar setups as last year? I know its rare to have consecutive years with above average snowfall...Someone fill me in. thanks

Well James there are lots of vaiables that go into a forecast you can not just only look at El Nino but it is a key factor in the weather and winter and snowfall. Expect Average to Slightly Above as you said.
