Weather geek and a storm spotter in West Austin. Not a degreed meteorologist. Big snow fan. Love rain and cold! Despise heat!

If one more snow system goes below DFW...

Must have been some really good 2 for 1 specials this evening for happy hour and the gfs must have drank them dry.
By the time the next couple of runs come around will probably be showing dry and temps in the 70’s and 80’s.

Gonna be honest if this happened and not only did Austin and San Antonio see a fair amount of snow, but I saw a measurable amount of snow before the DFW folks did I'd have a pretty good laugh.

I'm on my way to Lake Tahoe right now but why does the GFS hate DFW

0zGFS forecasting temperatures in the mid 20s at noon for the RGV in the long range
.......On a serious note the GFS and GFS Ensembles has been very consistent on building some cold anomalies in our source region we shall see if it holds!

Re: Texas Winter 2019-2020
Meteogram for Houston next week. 60 hrs below freezing? About 3/4 inch precip in sub-freezing air? Quite a large warm nose aloft over Houston, indicating sleet. Obviously, it cannot be believed, except for the fact that it's all south of the D-FW area...

Re: Texas Winter 2019-2020
N TX needs to watch Sat for possible snow depending on where the upper low tracks. 06Z GFS snows flakes down to DFW. For now, I expect this to be an I-44 event vs a N TX event though.
