So far things are playing out very similar to how the HRRR had been predicting most of the day. It nailed the idea of the precipitation beginning before midnight, and also the general location and precip. type for this time period.

Now the question is, will the HRRR continue to do well through the rest of the event? If so, then this is what we will be looking at a little later on....

Sleet has been ongoing (mixed with a bit of freezing rain) since about 11:30 here. The slug of moisture continues well back into Texas. This system is definitely on track to deliver the Southern Plains quite a storm.

Saw a pic of my backyard in TUL a few minutes ago. 4 inches of snow/sleet and heavy snow coming down in a big way.

Foggy here in Port Arthur. :/

Snow looks like it's stopped falling in OKC but now you have a ground blizzard yikes. Scenes coming out of OKC has been horrific. This storm may not have beaten 09 xmas eve in terms of snowfall, wind wise it will and bitter cold temps. :cold: Is that Oklahoma or the Yukon?!

Ya we got about 10 inches on the north side of OKC with drifts up to 3 feet. The snow has come to an end pretty much but the snow is still blowing like crazy.

The storm was not as bad as it could have been, but it was still very nasty. Probably 6-10 inches of snow here south of OKC, with higher drifts. The cold is the worst part of the event though, with wind chills well below -10F at times! Brrr.

NWS Shreveport has the whole Ark-La-Tex in a freeze warning.

A FREEZE WARNING MEANS SUB-FREEZING TEMPERATURES ARE IMMINENT OR
HIGHLY LIKELY. THESE CONDITIONS WILL KILL CROPS AND OTHER
SENSITIVE VEGETATION.

It's strange how south of us gets hard freeze warning, yet we are just getting freeze warning.

Tulsa will likely break their all time 24 hour snowfall record. The record was 12.69 inches and they got between 14-16 inches.

EDIT: Claremore, Oklahoma officially comes in with 20.2 Inches.

Wow 20.2. They won't get rid of that for another month lol. The highest I think I've ever seen in Oklahoma was 24 in Alva couple years back in the spring. Given my memory for storms up there isn't that extensive but still...
