Texas Winter 2010-2011

Checking the water vapor imagery it looks like Pacific moisture is trying to work its way into the state. From a complete weather novice could this result in any more precipitation?

Im interested in finding this out too

If this were to happen when would it? Or is it not looking like it would?

I'd think that will be more high clouds than any precip..

It does look like drizzle and rain will stick around until 2 or 3 in the afternoon for Houston

Today is bittersweet for me. I'm happy to see the snow and ice, regardless of how miniscule some people think it is. It makes me sad to think this will be the last event of the season. Do any of you think after our two week warm-up, the pattern might change again? Is there any indications that might happen, or is this truly "it"?

Since it did snow just north of houston in April 2007... You just never know..

RUC soundings have temps well above freezing (mid 40s) just above the surface in Bellville and that above freezing layer extends all the way up to the top of the cloud deck. Forecast sounding has temps well above freezing aloft through early afternoon when the precip ends. Either the sounding is way off or it's not sleeting in Bellville. Unless the rain is freezing just before it hits the ground in that very shallow surface layer. Possible, I suppose.

currently 25 here in CLL with light freezing drizzle. Went to the grocery store to get a few items and came out to frozen up windows and doors.

Probably not as it ends from west to east... and it looks very light and very patchy.. But it wouldn't take much to make a mess...

Let me know if im wrong, but the roads dont seem as bad as they were last week. I walked on the sidewalk and on the road and didnt even slide. Are they really that bad?

The bulk of the winter should be over. La Nina is taking over the next two weeks or so. After that there are small hints of -NAO and/or AO- returning. If that's the case, brief cold shots for Texas aren't impossible and of course with those there's always a SLIM chance at some wintry precip. But the widespread wintry weather should be done with this winter imo.

Long time lurker and lifelong weather enthusiast here at Baylor University Law School in Waco. Currently 18 degrees, light snow and the roads are icy. Freezing drizzle continued all morning and switched to snow about an hour ago.
