Radar sure seems to be blowing up right now... that lull over the metro is filling in quick with at times heavy precip.

I'm about tired of models anyway... nothing beats a radar.

29.8 degrees here in south Frisco, few ice pellets hitting the roof as I type. Some media downplaying this in DFW, of course when in doubt always go with Steve McCauley.

Good to be able to log back in, was locked out for a bit during the ice/snow storm last week. So I am frequently a one of the guests here, lol.

0Z is 6PM. on the 20Z HRRR watch the precip dissipate quickly between hours 11 and 12.
Models are all over the place with this storm so all we can do is watch the radar and temps.

right you are, my bad and apologies....I was thinking 12z but that's not what I wrote was it:)

32.5 here in University Park...

With the temps dropping steadily as the sun sets and the radar filling in nicely... I'd say that we in DFW are right on track for a very significant winter event.

No problem, just baffling how temps and precip could work out so horribly for me though the RAP does not look nearly that bad.

Ntxw,

Looks like the radar is depicting either sleet or heavy rain in your neck of the woods... anything to report?

Just drove home from mid cities to West Fort Worth. Really heavy downpours with no sleet. Temp gauge on my truck actually rose 2 degrees under heaviest precip .. Must be decent warm nose to get that heavy of a rain with no sleet

Anyone giving the NAM credence or has everyone lost hope in getting heavy precip?

EWX says this could be the worst event so far this winter and posts a warning but my point forecast says little or no accumulation expected....isn't this inconsistent?
