El Paso NWS hoisted a winter storm warning and upped their totals to 3-5 inches. Rumor is word that Portastorm Weather Center is contemplating on Flizzard watches.

The storm that was supposed to hit Houston but hit Dallas instead.... This one isnt as cold, but the placement of the ULL seems to be similar if i remember correctly.

I'm pretty amateurish lol but I was having deja vu lookin at the radar. The storm in February when we got the fluffy, dry, snow started off little and If I remember correctly everyone was talking about light snow and flurries and the storm popped up pretty quickly and ran right over dfw with good snowfall.

Now down to 43 with a DP of 41 in the past hour. According to NWS, I've been at 45 with a DP of 43 since 5 AM this morning!

According to my thermometer it's 32 here at my house. It'll be interesting to see how the night unfolds.

The radar still looks interesting out west almost like it's catching moisture heading our way but It could just be kind of an illusion

Basically the same thing its been showing. A little bit of moisture moving through, it tries to give our area a dusting.

I think it's time to just pour a nice cup of hot chocolate and wait and see if a surprise happens, if not you are still enjoying some delicious hot chocolate.

Upper level dynamics were different back on February 3-4, 2011 - the upper trough moved across central Texas as a neutral to negatively tilted trough as in traveled northeast. This trough is moving as more of a positively tilted trough in a east-southeasterly direction, which normally cuts of the gulf moisture conveyor belt into the North Texas area.

This is just my amateur take when following these types of winter weather setups...

A weather station very close to my house here in NW Austin says it's 34. It's drizzling steadily, but I thought I saw a few ice pellets or at least some freezing drizzle when I went out a little while ago.

So anxious to see what happens an don't want to fall asleep so I can see what happens! But at the same time I'll be angry if nothing happens! Why is winter weather so hard to predict in Texas!!? :p

Oh, boy. Well, my gut has a hard time distancing itself from my heart, so my gut always wants to say snow. However, if I go by just the models, I would say flurries and at the very best a few places might pick up some light snow at times. So....not much sadly.

But, the snow band out west is increasing quite nicely. Maybe it is a sign of things to come...

I'm the same way ;) and when you mention the band out west, are you talking about the one near midland?

Yeah, and a few other spots are starting to pop up. Just grasping at straws, hoping for a trend.

Radar getting sort of interesting just west of dfw maybe. Hopefully we can see a nice band form and maybe(fingers crossed and hoping) the band out towards el paso comes together and swings through for a surprise!!

It is, appears to be an expanding band of precip that's also intensifying.

It would be awesome if a small band of heavy or moderate snowfall would build up and come through and drop an inch or two off! (dreaming lol) but I'd get my snow fix in!
