There was a post from an OKC TV met about trees budding ahead of schedule in Southern Oklahoma and that seemed to start it now people are claiming stuff is blooming even though it snowed in OKC recently

Meanwhile the TV met here is calling it fools spring

Still here. Hoping for some good news for March as the rest of this month is a kick in the crotch it seems. That southern/southeastern ridge is one stubborn SOB. As some on here have alluded to March could bring some colder temps at least. By then 70s and 80s don't bother me at all.

Yeah this weather pattern sucks right now. If we're reaching the 80s to near 90 in February, I would at least like some occasional good rain events please.

I agree, the pattern sucks a little. It would be better if we could hit the upper 80s or 90s, but I'll take near 80 in February. Time to go out for a short bike ride in the warm air.

Maybe warm in southern tier right now but there's a massive Glacier forming not too far to the north over the next 1-2 weeks. This, along with Strat Warming, should lay the foundation for a potentially chilly March for the country as a whole.

And after several years of significant Rockies snowpack deficiencies, that is quickly turning around this year...One of the better Western US snow patterns you'll ever see coming up.

I was up in Colorado during the NTX ice storm, and they're enjoying a great winter. Crested Butte ended January with more snow for the season to date than they get for an entire season. Unlike last winter where we got everything in basically 2 storms, this season has been a long string of over-achieving storms. Anytime the forecast calls for 4-6" they're getting 8-10", over and over. Bodes well for the reservoirs feeding the Colorado River.

Meanwhile back in Dallas I had mosquito hawks on the patio last night. In February. Usually that's a late March or early April thing. Live oaks look like they're about to turn as well. At least with the 2 freezes last week DFW is off the Top 10 list for fewest freezes in a winter. Kinda hoping we could squeeze out a few more and maybe a tease at some snow before all is said and done.

I'm expecting severe weather tonight and again this weekend, so late February is extremely volatile for it's standards.

The cycling method does suggest a return to some cooler weather for one final time at the start of March. It has been pretty right this winter and looking ahead it forecasts cooler weather in the west and average temps here from March to September. Slightly wetter than average. Hope that comes true.

I despise those mosquito hawks/crane flies. They just fly in while letting the dog out, fly around for a day and die on the floor. They aren't bad, just annoying.
