I'm giving up on it happening around here that's for sure. It's cold, windy, and wet - that's about it.

I think it's too late, iorange55. I'm not sure what happened, but just as the radar showed the snow almost to me (like maybe a couple of miles), it started retreating back west. I'm not even in the pink, anymore. Just green. :(
Btw, I'm not "in" Beaumont. I'm a little west of Beaumont, so if it was headed this way, it would have gotten to me before it got to Beaumont.

I will admit... it's quite disappointing.

Train seems to be heading out to the north and northeast - we're far from the tracks.

Pretty sure we're right in line for the wrap around "snow" portion of this ULL. Weatherbug station 12 miles from here reporting a temp of 36 so things are looking up. Still feeling confident we'll have some flurry action by sunrise.

After a decent amount of snow, then heavy sleet (at least by my standards), then I think what was a sleet/snow mix, it's pure snow again and the heaviest yet! Big snowflakes... it's like a winter wonderland! I hope this makes it to Frick and company to my east... stay up if you have to. It's worth it!!

Woohoo!!

I'm still waiting. We have a lovely temp of 38 and yucky cold rain.

Thanks - this is SO COOL! My roof is solid white, the grass is white, although you can still see grass through it. After making snowballs off the cars, it starts covering right back up! I haven't seen snow like this since I was a little kid. It's still snowing heavy (by my standards, anyway).

I'm walking in a winter wonderland... :)

My temp is showing 37 so we're getting close. Light rain/heavy drizzle currently. The upper level low might hit just right just before dawn but I don't expect to see any snow until then. Congrats SG and others for seeing a long overdue snow!

Quite an amazing system moving through right now: http://radar.weather.gov/radar_lite.php ... Z&loop=yes

I am going to be miserable for work in a few hours. here i am up before 5 a.m. when I usually sleep til 8:45 since I don't have to be at work til 9:45. looked out my window and nothing. no precipitation at all here in the Houma-Thibodaux area. our temp is at 36 degrees. going to be so disappointed if it happens this close yet nothing for us.

WOW! Just got up and we have heavy snow coming down!! The grass and rooftops are all coated in white, far outdoing what I saw back in 2004. I didn't think this would happen and judging by the radar we could pick up quite a bit more.
