Okay Everyone-------this will be my last update tonight (or this morning, depending on your point of view lol)
135AM
The temperature has just dropped to 27 degrees, and the dewpoint is now 19 degrees. The winds are increasing out of the North, to 12 mph, gusting to 23 mph. Windchills are in the single digits.
The snow is steady and is trying to become moderate; most of the flakes are small, but a few are a half inch in diameter.
We have picked up about three-quarters of an inch tonight, which makes it about 3 inches we've gotten from this storm total.
I think we have the potential to pick up another 1 to 3, maybe 4 inches from this by 10am this morning.
I'll be back on here by 10 or 11 am this morning to bring you the very latest.
Please stay warm and take care up in the Northeastern localities where more than 24 inches of snow may pile up through Sunday.
This is SnowBlitzJEB, reporting from Dale City/Woodbridge in Virginia, signing off for the night.
Good evening/morning.

Jeb, I am a bit dissapointed. We had a big heavy snow burst around 7:30 p.m. for almsot 45 minutes last night but it was 34 degrees and none stuck. We received around 1 - 1 1/2 inches overnight. It is pretty but not enough to make a snowman or go sledding. Today I have to take my daughter somewhere to sled.

K folks, the storm has been over here in Dale City/Woodbridge, VA for some time.
Thursday night, we picked up 2.2 inches of snow in two hours that then mixed with and changed to sleet, then to light rain/drizzle overnight.
Friday we had drizzle, occasional light rain through the day with a high of 33 degrees. Friday evening at around 10pm it changed back to snow, and accumulated another 2 inches. So we got 4.2 inches of snow from what turned out to be the puppy's share of this Big Dog blizzard.
Right now at 340pm on Saturday, It's mostly cloudy, clouds racing out of the North, we barely eked out a high of 31 degrees, it's 29 now, winds are North at 15 mph with gusts over 35!! Snow on trees is blowing around! We have three to four inches of snow on the grass and on sidewalks; the road snow has been plowed or melted some. Tonight will be cold with lows in the teens; tomorrow it will be lucky to hit 38 degrees. Dewpoint is 13 degrees and windchill is about Zero degrees. Not exactly a good day for a picnic.
It was a nice snow, but I can't help trying to imagine what all you lucky folks up in the Northeastern states must be savoring right now:
Temps in the low 20s, winds NNE at 35mph, gusting to over 50, even 60 mph, and very, very heavy snows to the tune of 2, 3 inches per hour, for hours on end!!!! Southeastern Aroostook County in eastern Maine will pick up 30 to 36 inches from this by early Monday morning!!!!
Everyone, take care and ENJOY ALL THAT DEEP SNOW!!!!
Looking forward to the next big dog storm!!!!!!!!!
