It's a definite maybe for a surge of colder air in the West that affects Texas in the last half of the month. Models in modest agreement.

Looks like a MJO phase 2.

If it's not going to snow I have no problem with the 60s and 70s in the 7-day forecast. Even a (little) bit of rain!

Euro Weeklies turn colder and wetter for Texas end of month and March.

So far we are running at the driest winter on record here :spam:

Come on pattern change. Even if it's just rain

No SPC outlook for Tuesday but the thunderstorms the other day weren't outlooked on the Day 1s and a radar indicated tornado cell causes either wind damage or low end tornado damage.

That last system the Euro, while almost nil instability was showing heavy showers. Not so much today's 6Z Euro or GFS. But any rain is good rain.

Snow/ice is possible late February into March, but sun angle will be enough of a factor, even through clouds, there will be a difference between daytime precip and night time precip.

Of course sun angle and climatology is going to play a role in how cold we get, but i do think things are starting to line up a bit better for cold to return past the 19th , blocking pattern continues to approve on ensembles, Se ridge will be a player, but that doesnt mean we still cant get pretty cold even in late february, strong rotation into 2/3 on the MJO supports my idea of winter returning

That's literally the one day we don't want it due to plans. Lol.

On a side note, got the swim spa installed and ready to try it tonight since it's finally heated. Would be nice to use it in the snow once this winter. Lol.

Currently 79. I’m sure we’ll make it into the 80s today. Absolutely stupid for the beginning of February.

Today's record high for DFW is 84*F, and take a wild guess as to when it was set...

Looks like we could make a run for it for the 2nd year in a row...

We can only hope we follow last year haha  :spam: :layout:

Our coldest temperatures the entire winter was still to come and more importantly it was wet for months all the way through summer

Want to note ENSO region is starting to go very much El Nino in the near future, perhaps it affects spring more than winter?

Winter 2020-2021 :cold:

All observations are in Tecumseh, OK unless otherwise noted.

Winter posts are focused mainly for Oklahoma & Texas.

Take any of my forecasts with a grain of salt, refer to the NWS, SPC, and NHC for official information

Never say Never with weather! Because ANYTHING is possible!

I haven’t really been impressed with El Niños lately. Hopefully this one will be better.

Hope it goes better than the last one here when we got Pacific air all winter and the infamous snow holes...

Literally my worst winter here so far has been El Nino

Say what you want about La Nina but it has had a real snow every year. Like this winter technically we've had our snowfall average even if somehow nothing else happens
