Well damn, it does appear North Texas might have to wait a few weeks to maybe see a snowstorm. The thirst for snow is too much for me to handle without witnessing it. Call it winter heroin withdrawals. Holy crap I need to see a snowstorm. Possum Kingdom anyone?

I think they do.... But winter is nowhere near cancelled. I have it on good authority that next week will be interesting to watch, but February is the time for snow in North Texas!

Careful Epicman, posts can and will be deleted. Emotions can run high for sure in winter. I have had one or two deleted a few years ago I think. But I certainly agree, Mother needs to give us a break. It has been 3 years since the last significant snow in DFW.

Based on radar and mPing it looks like snow/flurries should be moving into northern Ft. Worth pretty soon.

Driving through the Westside of Ft Worth and can confirm precip intensity is dying out...just a few flakes/sleet pellets is all. Huge bust today by FTW NWS office, very frustrating due to some after school activities cancelled and employees leaving office early due to advisory that was posted

Some extremely aggressive Euro ENS members for a potential winter storm next Thursday/Friday...they drop this shortwave deep into Texas underneath the upper level ridge sitting over Central Canada. Although rare, interesting analogs show up with that particular setup. Something to begin monitoring!! Also, a decent number of them snow and freezing rain/overrunning event for central/south Texas Tuesday/Wednesday

The ensembles sure do look interesting for next week though any particular solution is tricky at best to nail down. Suffice to say it will be cold and unsettled. The late week time frame looks like the best bet based on what I have seen.

Funny how all the TV mets are touting a warmup next week. 68 forecast for Friday and Saturday.

Not that I can confirm, but from my third floor porch( wouldn't call it a balcony), looking north I can see a lower cloud deck with something falling in the sky, similar to watching a rain storm from a distance. Probably a county up from Dallas; Denton more than likely.

I just drove home to Frisco from Fw. Sky was dark and you could see precipitation falling. Then the sky got lighter right along with the radar as time went on. Dry cold and clouds this year:). At least we’re getting a winter. All the ponds in my neighborhood froze over around New Year’s Day. I’ll take that over last year for sure.
