The tracking can sometimes be more exciting than the actual event especially if it isn't snow which I get. By tomorrow everyone will be back on ready to track the next one though.

Agreed.

I think I’m abt to hit a lull in the action, but then I look at the radar filling in southwest of here and think this is just how it’s gonna be throughout the night. Midland radar is juicy.

This may be the most stubborn one I have seen. It just won't budge.

My weather has my area transitioning to snow by 3 AM before precip leaves around 6 supposedly. Questionable but if it did happen would be nice.

I also have a nice coating of sleet on the ground. Dog for scale

Snow in Texas? What’s that?

Don't use my posts as forecast; I'm not a certified meteorologist! I just endorse cold weather, alright?

All observations I note are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.

The wind here is definitely shifting to the NW now. Should -finally- pull-in some lower dew points and temperatures and erode the shadow effect.

Had a freezing rain shower, but now it’s back to heavy sleet here in Austin. Wind is picking up as well.

The sleet hammer has been unleashed. We would be in a bad spot if this had come in as freezing rain.

Is there still a signal for wintry weather on the ensembles?

This. I’m always fairly active before the event. Once it’s started, I’m taking it all in. I’m up to about 3” of sleet with light snow mixed in. I have a 2’ hill of sleet to navigate out front. Very much like 2013. Trying to stay up unti it switches to all snow. I doubt I’ll make it

Varies. Canadian ensemble still pretty bullish for South Central Texas points SE near the coast. A lot will depend on how deep this arctic airmass is and the orientation of disturbance riding down with it and how much moisture it can tap into but still a few days from getting all that resolved.

I have doubts that it switches to snow. And if it does it won’t be enough to accumulate.

Kinda done with the Quachita effect. It’s 13 and sleeting like a MFer. 13 degrees should be all snow IMO.

Anyone know if the precipitation in Big Spring is snow?
