It'll mostly be a flizzard. The greatest lift is over in Collin County and to the north of there.

DFW airport had a wind gust of 43 mph not too long ago!

I just measured a gust of 48 mph with my Kestrel Wind Meter

Can confirm Park Cities, Uptown and East Dallas had a nice snowburst 5:30 to just before sunrise. SO can confirm craziness for going out for coffee to enjoy it. Howling winds added to the effect for sure!

I imagine Brent got some, I just drove over 121 into Plano and there are white rooves as far as I can see. .25 inch blizzard

This was certainly not the congrats deserving storm for DFW. We are due for a real storm. Hopefully that will come by the middle of March.

Oh how the standard has been dropped if we're calling flizzards snow now.... I'm glad some of y'all got to stand out there and watch it fall, but I'm glad I was asleep! Lol

Hopefully February brings something more substantial.

It is always pleasant watching snow fall but I agree, a bigger system is needed. On to the Wednesday system and beyond.

I dont think anything fell south of north 121, 635 area. Didn't even get drop of rain here in southern Tarrant.

This was a bust precip wise and models and most forecast had 60-70% chance across most of north Texas.

There were many posters who did a good job of giving us ground truth. Far northeast Tarrant county, northern third of Dallas county, and all of Denton, Collin county experienced about 20-30 mins of moderate snowfall with wet flakes that transitioned to a flizzard. South of that area got little to nothing.

All in all was a novelty for those who saw.

Exciting night despite it not being much. I didn’t see anything even when a few radar returns came over me. I think my temp was not cooled enough to be snow since it was warmer than areas that got snow under heavier returns.

The HRRR did bust in that it had heavy returns over much of Tarrant, and it was confined to far northeast Tarrant. But, it overall was right sniffing out something yesterday. Flurries are better than nothing at least.

Edit to add: The wind is crazy. Even my weather station in narrow suburban lots just above the fence registered 30 mph peak wind gusts. You can usually add 15-20 to that number to get the real thing.

Congrats on the dusting DFW folks!

42 MPH gust on my station this am and about 75% of the gusts are blocked by trees. West and WNW are the only areas where i cant get a smooth reading. It hardly ever is windy from particular side of the compass but that is where our strongest winds come from.

The heavy returns that showed up over my portion of southern Collin County were mostly sleet mixed with snow but we did eventually flip to all snow. I couldn't brave the wind and ended up going back to bed. Now we wait for a real snowstorm
