I've been trying to tell you that... I still think our best chance comes from snow showers tomorrow. Those can drop an inch or two quickly in localized spots. At the very least we might see it falling at a decent hour.

While I would be THRILLED beyond words to see even a slight accumulation--at this point, I'd even take just a few snow showers so we could see it snow.

Of course, I would prefer the accumulating variety, but I guess beggars can't be choosers. And let's face it...we've been snow-beggars here in Atlanta for several winters running. ;)

I'm putting my kids to bed tonight with their pj's on inside out and backwards. I heard that will nearly *ensure* accumulating snowfall. :D

Of course, they think I'm nuts....but I've known that for a long time. Shhh. Don't tell 'em. :D

Let's be realistic...We get the occasional big snowfall, but I have learned not to expect it due to our geographical location. I'm somewhat hopeful regarding the upcoming storm, but I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be all rain. I wish the best of luck to everyone who has the smallest chance of snow, but don't get your hopes up!

Well, don't feel bad. At least we weren't expecting 3-6" and wound up with nothing like Nashville. Major bust up there...

I still say good chance of at least flurries tomorrow, maybe snow showers, could be some localized accumulations of up to an inch. Note: I said localized... not everyone will get it.

Yes, I saw it. A 10% chance of snow showers = cold winter rain. ;)

So Brent...what do you think the chances are that AL/GA will see a few snow showers tonight?

This is the forecast for my area:

Tonight: A 20 percent chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low near 31. West wind between 15 and 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Sunday: Partly cloudy, with a high near 39. West wind around 15 mph.

Sunday Night: A 20 percent chance of snow showers after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 25. West wind between 5 and 10 mph.

Very interesting, Calamity!

Perhaps...perhaps....the little blue blobs on that radar will eventually make it to our house. 8-) :ggreen:

Do I dare believe it will happen? Nope. ;)

If it does...we'll enjoy the *now shower...and feel blessed. If not...oh well.

Well, well, well....we're in the "snow area" :ggreen:

It's probably not going to amount to anything...but it's the best real chance we've had all year to see falling snowflakes.

Nothing so far(though I'm not going out to check, just looking out the window). About to be dark though so I'm about to lose that view. :(

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BIRMINGHAM AL
545 PM CST SAT FEB 11 2006

.UPDATE...

WILL UPDATE THE FORECAST TO REMOVE THE LAKE WIND ADVISORY
HEADLINE. ALSO...WILL ADJUST THE WEATHER GROUP TO CHANGE THE RAIN
AND SNOW MIX TO ALL SNOW. WE HAVE GOTTEN REPORTS OF SNOW AS FAR
SOUTH AS CLANTON. SO WENT AHEAD AND EXTENDED THE SNOW CHANCES
FARTHER SOUTH EXCEPT OUR EXTREME SOUTHERN ZONES WERE I JUST ADDED
A LIGHT SPRINKLES. A FEW PLACES MAY RECEIVE A BRIEF DUSTING AND
EVEN HALF AN INCH ON GRASS SURFACES. ROADS SHOULD REMAIN CLEAR
THOUGH. IF YOU ARE LUCKY ENOUGH TO RECEIVE ONE OF THESE
SHOWERS...GO OUTSIDE AND ENJOY IT. BUNDLE UP THOUGH...IT'S VERY
COLD OUTSIDE.

That's exactly what we will do--if it should actually happen. It's 32 here now...but not a cloud in the sky over our house. We can count the stars.

I sure hope so...but not holding my breath or counting on it.

If it happens--it's a treat and we'll enjoy it to the max. :ggreen:

Interesting setup. Too bad I live in nc. We're going to get in the mid 30s tonight, with no rain.
