Well at least the GFS has signs it's going to get wet again... I'm giving up on snow and cold...

Don't know why we can't just have a bowling ball storm deliver snow to Texas, a Gulf low forms and gives snow to the Deep South and then collides with an Alberta clipper that gives Indiana and Ohio a snow storm and then a Southeast transfer brings the east coast into the action. Probably will never happen

Yeah it doesn't benefit me at all, it keeps all the snow well east of me, I said before that snowstorms in North Texas are usually good for me in Ohio, the +PNA Pushes the trough too far east and favors just the East coast really.

The signals are there for a big potential storm around the 15th of this month. The details will be ironed out in the coming days.

I'm just hoping for a widespread heavy rain event across Texas. Fire weather concerns are already cropping up across the state with this dry pattern we've been having over the past few weeks. Any snow or ice would be icing on the cake.

And to add insult to injury, I'm watching lighting out my window from a storm that is moving across far northern Travis and Williamson counties. Nothing for the southside or scenic southwestern Travis County unfortunately.

Well there was a little back building and for a minute or so had a few rain drops fall. I went out onto the lanai to watch the clouds pass by and between the breaks I could see the stars very clearly. Due to the cold air and the reflection of the city lights on the clouds, it made for a beautiful and almost otherworldly scene. There was an occasional flash of lightning in the distance as well.

That was the most weather excitement i've had in awhile and it wasn't much lol.

Hail pounding my casa woke me up this morning. Earrrly this morning!!! I will begin my BBQ Season if Evil Wxman57 has his way and kills my snowy snow. Sigh. Snow for SXSW sounds interesting though according to the long range models. But ughhh. I have not been posting due to my Mom being in the hospital? Cpc anchors warmer than avg temps next 6-10 days. Very little precip as NW flow is established with rising PNA. Some folks may push 80 when the ridge pushes through. There are subtle hints of the PNA relaxing but thats well beyond Feb 15th. We may on pace for the warmest winter since 1999-2000 at DFW.

It wouldn't? I thought the Northern stream would pull down colder air and the Southern stream would deliver Pacific moisture?

EWX had a quick mention about the possibility of rain next weekend in their overnight update. I'll hold off on expecting anything until there is more evidence.

Had a weak little shower in Irving this morning. Just enough to dirty my car I just had washed yesterday. Forget winter, just a solid rain event would be appreciated. This is one boring winter.

There is some energy being dropped west of the Baja by guidance. It will be a slow ejection but if/when it comes out we may try for a last minute ditch effort like last season. Even if no snow, at least it may tap into some rain. Way far out though, have to get through the 15th.
