ICON much colder Wednesday. Generates some moderate/heavy snow across SC TX and southern HC Wed afternoon into Thursday afternoon.

So is extra pre show or a trend for the DFW area losing out?

This is more pre event but definitely another trend that Wednesday afternoon into Thursday morning across areas further south could get interesting, especially now that we're a little closer in range to that time period and models seem to be gaining more support.

Though I’ve been relatively quiet up until now, but I feel this latest ICON run shows a legitimate possibility of ice accumulations in portions of SE TX, including some of the Houston Metro areas. It’s early on and I’m pulling for the latest 18Z Euro run, but I’m afraid this latest 00Z ICON run will be closer to reality when all is said and done. We shall see.

You know, there’s a little football skirmish called the Cotton Bowl CFP National Semifinal being held on Friday at AT&T Stadium. I seem to remember another pretty significant football game in the DFW area that was significantly impacted by a North Texas snowstorm. \m/

1978 Cotton Bowl? I was there! Took something like 8 hours to drive up from austin because I35 was iced over almost the entire way. Missed the first quarter. ND had some kid Fontana or Montana or something at QB.

RGEM (CMC short range lite) starting to also get into range. Interesting that it has a snow/sleet signal (light) already showing up over SA at 84 hours (Wednesday morning). Might give us a little insight as to what CMC is gearing up to put out soon.

Yeah I hope I’m wrong and the Euro run and the more amped-up runs verify where NTX & CTX ultimately receives all of the snow accumulations and frozen precipitation.
