I just want some snow. Let me rephrase I want a lot of snow lol. This is the first year I wasn’t able to take the family to Colorado to see snow, so I’m counting on something to come through.

Snow is mainly what I want too. The severe cold is awesome too but nothing beats a good snowstorm for me.

My fear anytime I schedule to be out of town in winter. Heck, I'm going to Cozumel for Spring Break and although chances in mid march are always slim, I still realize how pissed I would be were it to snow at home (yes I know I would be in Cozumel so poor me, but that is how my mind works with winter weather at home  )

I left the day before the 2021 Blast for Cancun, ended up having to stay four days extra due to travel delays and missed all the extreme weather. I know, poor me, but for a weather lover, I missed one of the more wild weather runs of my life.

Orientation. The Euro runs that really hit are more North-South, which allows the s/w to dig into the SW. The GFS is more zonal, and the s/w races into the base of the TPV. This would be a good example for a QG theory discussion :double:

Lol considering the nightmares I still occasionally have over my college differential equations class, I think I’ll pass on that discussion

Unfortunately we have the TPV in wrong location when we don't need it! That's why it's tough to get the right setup for winter storms here for this system next week

wintry precipitation is still very much on the table, the storm is still out in the pacific so every run should be taken lightly, their will definitely be more opportunities to see wintry precipitation as the pattern locks in for an extended period, models will continue to struggle with the energy until the system moves in land and it can finally be sampled, for example the CMC was the driest model and even at its 12z run it shows some more moisture to work with, long ways to go folks

00z ICON with some better spacing b/w the WCAN TPV, the NPAC s/w, and the cutoff near Hawaii. Not as good as the Euro, but better than the 12z ICON.

Oh well, in the end, it didn't really change anything.

I wouldn’t worry too much if I were you. And over the next couple months, you’ll be measuring snow in feet, not inches.

I jest mostly. Any big outbreak starts with a big storm and ends with a big storm. I’ll be here for either.

I take it the GFS was not helpful towards getting precip?

Nope. Only a couple inches here even and we definitely have higher potential than that

If this ends up being a dry cold I will be disappointed.

Canadian took a small step towards the Euro. The GFS is trending towards no snow south of Chicago lol
