This is odd. It barely shows on radar but having the best snow all day here in north FW.

Glad you got some snow, Portastorm. Can I have my warm temps back now? :cold:

Light/moderate snow has finally commenced in Longview after being on the edge all day. It's just barely starting to accumulate on some grassy areas.

Let it snow! Nice to see it during the daytime, too!

Lick your wounds metroplexers we try again next week. Yes you must go through the pain once again.

Flurries here also. Ok, so what are we looking at next week? A similar system like today? If only temps could cooperate with the next one.

Man driving north past Italy Forreston where I stopped on the way down the snow quickly went down to next to nothing and I stopped in Waxahachie to get some food and just a dusting here sad

The snowless streak lives on for DFW imo :spam:

Yes. We are paying for the run from 09 - 15. The blocking this year and the solar cycle gives me hope for the rest of this year and the following winters.

He lives!

Listen, we have to help our friends in the Metroplex. Let's get them a good snow and your Canadian wall can be built back up and we can have 70s and sunshine. :D

I think we should wait for the 0z suit of guidance before starting anything serious. Only a few runs so far so just an intrigue at the moment. Lets allow some of our other posters to share their snow globes until then!

Are the northern DFW counties still on the table for overnight?

Update from just south of Tyler, TX

All roads are now covered and it really looks like a "winter wonderland now". Estimate about 2-3 inches on the ground at 32 degrees with several more hours of snow left!

I got an accuweather alert for sleet at 2000 so maybe. And DFW Weather watch just posted on FB " Many Hi-Res models indicate that an area of wrap around moisture will be in place late tonight into very early Monday morning. This area of snow could drop up to an inch with an isolated two inches along and North of I-20. "

Some areas of Northern DFW Counties along the red river are still being called for upto 1/2 inch possibly.

There have been a handful of flakes stubbornly continuing to fall until now; finally, nothing coming down here in East Austin.

Could be going crazy but did the dry air finally give way in DFW? Radar looks a lot more filled in and the donut seems to be smaller
