A 1.75 qpf times a standard 10:1 Snow to water ratio works out to about 18 inches of snow. If it gets colder you could get clobbered with 24 inches of snow!!

You folks up there are literally getting snowed under by storm after storm after storm after storm LOL!!!!!

ratios would likely be 10 or 12:1. so since 10*1.75=17.5, and 12*1.75=21.0, where 10 and 12 are the snow/liquid ratios and 1.75 is the total QPF, that yeilds 17-21" of snow.

or if we used 1.50" of liquid we would assume that 15-18" falls using a 10:1 and 12:1 ratio.

I am in the Pittsburgh region also. But do not get too excited over this storm. It is still a good 4-5 days out and anything can happen between now and then. First worry about school tomorrow and then by Sunday we'll have a better idea on this storm.

redraider where do you live? Yea, im not going to get too excited about it yet the local mets are barely mentioning anything at all about the storm.
