Major East Coast Snowstorm this Weekend?

These snowstorms are always bust. Not being negative I personally wouldnt count on it happening.

You need to back up your "predictions" with support like NWS data, models, etc. This maybe your opinion but we have a lot of people that come to this website for information and not -removed-.

When I get on the NWS website my images appear to small so I really cant see the info.

this could be a biggie for the northeast. interesting to watch unfold for sure. as for a white christmas in PA, your best shot will be in Erie and Crawford counties in the northwest part of the state as well as the higher terrain. Lake Erie frequently delivers the goods in the northwest part of the state. Corry Pa (CLE CWA) reported a snow depth this morning of 42 inches! Good luck to our friends in the northeast hoping for a pre christmas snowstorm...you may get a very white christmas if things come together right.

As she said, you need to back up your predictions with verifiable information. If you can't see the NWS info then you need to find another/other sources.

It's looking like the heavy snow will miss the big cities of the East Coast (DC/NY). Could be some heavy snow over eastern MA (into Boston) Sunday/Monday and along the coast of Maine. But it appears this storm system will be just a bit too far offshore for a major East U.S. storm.

Update: 12Z GFS keeps almost all of the snow well off the East U.S. Coast this weekend.

I am happy to see no probable mid NE major hit on Sunday or Monday. Too chaotic a time on the roads, teens finishing up their classes and don't need loss of electricity and heat. Now Christmas Eve and Day and thereafter, bring (some of) it on. I'll stay tuned, however. Thank you for taking the time to update and Happy Holidays everyone.

must follow this trend.

cause 5H maps would usually have a low in a better positiion than most globals indicate.

and there's always a chaotic time on the road and what not someone driving somewhere or there.....kids...adults or someone's brother sister....but i want a snow bomb.

Maybe later in the week if the first low moves offshore. The long term forecast is suggesting another chance for a northeaster next Saturday.
