The north wind was to our faces and even bundled and wrapped in a blanket we were misable.
My poor, very talented, soccer player could hardly play. Then at 130, the temp had rose to about 50, but with gust of 30, the chill was just has bad. Luckily the younger ones team faired better and won.

With the temperature still at 48º here in the Spring Branch area, I find it hard to believe anywhere close to here is going to make it down into the 20's. There is going to have to be some super radiational cooling for that to happen.
I see that everyone is still calling for lows around freezing, at least at the places I have looked. What am I missing?

the temperatures are falling pretty slowly ATM...which is strange considering the dewpoint is still much lower and the winds are dead calm under a clear sky. My thinking is that this will probably end up being one of those weird nights when the temperature ends up falling like a rock a few hours before sunrise. Considering Conroe is currently at 33, Hooks at 39 and IAH at 42, it will not take too much of a fall to get down to freezing or below tonight. I guess we will see what happens..

One of my thermometers hit 31.2 last night and the other one hit 28.4-degrees. Either way, I was below freezing and it was a cold one this morning! frost was everywhere.
BTW, I find it very upsetting that the NWS southern site is down AGAIN. This is becoming a far too common occurance lately...

Lindaloo, you may wanna retitle this thread "Old Man Winter Takes Final Blow", because some of us North Texans will be seeing some wintry precipitation.

He is saying Austin-Waco is kinda the borderline area. Hey, look what your own local NWS folks are saying ... this is from their evening forecast discussion. The excerpt reads:
"IT STILL LOOKS LIKE THE SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING TIME PERIOD HAS THE BEST
POTENTIAL FOR VERY COLD RAINS ACROSS MUCH OF SOUTHEAST TEXAS. WE WILL
CONTINUE TO CLOSELY MONITOR UPCOMING MODEL RUNS FOR THE POSSIBILITY
OF SOME FROZEN PRECIPITATION ACROSS PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST TEXAS LATE
SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING. STAY TUNED! 42"
