The quicker the change to wintry precipitation, the higher the probability for banding and cooling no matter where you’re at.

Sorry for the double post but the 12km NAM is ever so slightly north it looks like.

EDIT: not north, with track but wider with high snow totals.

Looks like 0z NAM isn't too different than its prior minus minor details. Going to be a hit for a lot of people, and these bandings and where they set up could really snow on folks.

This DFW sounding near midday Sunday. If it isn't puking flakes with this nothing does.

If I was picking a spot, I’d go with Buffalo, TX

Great characterization! "Puking flakes" my favorite new saying for heavy snow.

I’m going to say college station. Not likely but I’m hoping it’s colder than forecasted and here in Victoria we get an inch or 2. Coastal low of Christmas 2004 was a miracle. I smel another :)

I’m 55 minutes away. I’d go play outside Kyle Field if CS got dumped on.

Love the disclaimer at the end. Shifts in this map are possible as we get new data.... The new data will be snowflakes hitting him in the face when he walks outside.
Hopefully he doesn't open his mouth and look up. We all know what happens to turkeys when they do.

Excellent plan for the most excellent scenario ThunderSleet. I figure when Jesus appears again it will be at a snow covered Kyle Field :D

Heavy convective training showing up on WRF too...very puzzling that all of the Pro Mets are still GFS model huggers and don’t rely on our short range hi res guidance as much

:uarrow: Not all professional mets are GFS huggers! I'm thinking 1-3 inches around Dallas, with some areas possibly seeing up to 5-6 inches under the heaviest snowbands. Right now I'm thinking the southern end of any accumulations will reach down to Austin and College Station.

One thing I've noticed here is that generally the TV mets here in DFW follow what the NWS says they had a graphic basically matching what FWD had put out an hour ago yesterday

100%. I want their job, take someone else’s work, make it look like mine , work relatively easy hours (nowadays from home) and get paid a ton for all that.
