If the higher resolution equivalent is picking up colder temps, I imagine we will see surface temp depictions for the event cool on the other models as we get closer.

I'm not sure you want it to get too much colder though if you're a fan of more snow across North Texas. Globals are always a bit warm with these scenarios and so I would expect HI Res to come in a few degrees colder, however that could make all the difference in terms of where the best QPF lines up as mentioned above.

Depends. Seems like most models are showing 33-34 across the dfw area during the event, so I wouldn’t mind shaving off a degree or two.

Quick tutorial:
1: Take photo of whatever you want to post and upload to Imgur.
2: Tap on the photo of your post and press the “Copy Post link” button on your uploaded Imgur post. Ex: Image
3: When making post on storm2k, press the “Img” button on the top right of making your post. Ex: Image
4: Now, you should the two [image] boxes on your post. Paste the link between your two boxes. Ex: Image

Now post your Imgur images and it should work. :D

Summer's for hibernation, Winter’s my vacation

Don't use my posts as forecast, I'm a complete meteorology noob! I just like cold weather, alright?

All observations I post are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.

Also on TROPICAL TIDBITS some of the outputs you can right click and pick "COPY IMAGE LOCATION" then copy and just paste like the last step above without imgur.

Only works if it ends in jpg, png, gif etc but I find it much easier.

Many other model sites don’t present those files in such a manor so you must upload to hosting site like mentioned above.

Thundersnow. Yes please. I've heard thundersleet a couple times but never thundersnow I don't believe. I think I would channel my inner Jim Cantore if I did.

It's currently just to the west offshore of Washington state and Oregon. It will get blocked (-AO/NAO) and head south-east and meander through Texas.

Thank the sweet snow God this is mainly a Sunday event. If I were indoors working while all this was going on I would contemplate a cliff. Hopefully most of us are off work Sunday. Should be fun!!!

A 2 to 3 inch snowfall that melts on Monday is a huge win in these parts. Just witnessing something so naturally magical that everyone can enjoy is so rare. Winter time is here snow starved Texans.

I will take anything as long as it breaks the drought. Even if that’s just an inch. Especially if it overperforms a la 2010.

Indeed. I wouldn't be shocked if it overperforms but honestly I just want the snowless streak gone lol. I only saw a couple inches in Abilene and remember how beautiful it was

Not sure if it was mentioned but the SREF had a massive northern shift from the 15z to the 21z, looking way more in line with the RGEM, NAM, and Euro
