OK, I know de skeeters was bad an we needed sum cold weather to kill em off but dis is rediculous!


Wen I was wishing fer cold weather, I wuz thinkin bout a cold frosty morn in the mid 20s wif it warmin up to bout 60 in de afternoon.

Lordy, wen I gets up this morn, it wuz 44 and it done dropped to 36 even after de sun comes up, and it aint supposed to get out of de 40s all day!

And de wind is blowing bad too!


If dis keeps up, Ize goin to move to Florida were its warm!

I gots my Defiant wood stove a stokin. That stove was built by some Vermont Yankees and dem fellers know how to make a good stove!

The stove heats the whole house even de back bedrooms!

My central heat been down all winter and cause it needs a new compressor and Ise gonna wait till April when I needs air condition before I puts any money into it.

I gots a big woodpile thanks to the hurricanes but some of the wood is still a little green to burn perferct. I have lots of big wood but get low on the smaller pieces but there are still lots of smaller broken branches hanging in the trees frum the hurricanes.

I will go outside today after the wind dies down and will cut up some more fallen limbs for small stock for the the woodpile.

Life is good down here in Wacahoota.

It's 21 in the suburbs of Atlanta right now...warmed up from 18 overnight (wind chill around 6). We had wild winds on top of cold cold temps. Lost power due to these winds--just for a while but it's on again (obviously or I wouldn't be posting).

Your winter weather looks better than ours....if it's gonna be this dad-blamed cold and windy, why can't we have snow too?

Thinking about turning our gas logs on (heats whole house too) to supplement the furnace. It's going full-blast and the house is still cold. Brrrr.

Jeny, That sounds too cold for me!

The wood stove heats the whole house but it is a little work tending the fire.

Then there is cutting, spliting, hauling and stacking the wood. And when you have a fire all the time, you gots to clean out the ashes bout every day.

Wood is an efficient fuel cause it warms you up several times befo you burn it!
