Southern New England? hUH?

#1 Postby bzukajo » Mon Jan 26, 2004 2:43 pm

The TV mets here were preicting 2-4 inch accumulations for the tuedsay into wendsday snow event. Then I log into Storm2k and see warnings of massive acumulations. I then go back to the TV mets, and they still don't have a clue. About an hour later they up the totals bringing me to over a foot of snow. So just how much should the MA RI and CT border expect?

You look to be in a very nice area for this storm.

The NWS just updated their discussion in Boston and you are in the jackpot area for our area. They said about a foot for you. Another channel out of Boston has you in the 10-15 inch range. You are sitting pretty for big snows. I was supposed to fly out of Boston for vaction on Wednesday morning at 9am. I switched the flight to tomorrow. Looks like a good move! Bummer I'm going to miss the storm but I'm ready for some warm weather and golf.

The Boston mets have been behind the "8" ball all day...I've been telling my wife, make plans for the kids no school on Wed and she keeps saying..."on TV" they are only saying 1-3....

I noticed the same, this mornings early news- some saying 1-3 near Boston and 3-6 south. This noon the tones definately changed across the board--- 6-12 with locally higher amounts across most of southern New England with some mixing on Cape Cod. Will be quite a storm... ready for a "Dave" walk. :)
