well looking at the latest GFS, most of the northeast remains in a good position to get heavy accumulations. the GFS is now closing off the low at H5 and H7 which should allow a decent deformation zone to form, and heavier accumulations further north and west of where they will be from the first wave.
this is slightly different yes (smaller scale), but does anybody recall the trend prior to presidents day 03???

nws was calling for 2-4 for my area before the storm then once it started it eventually was raised to 10-20
i recieved a little over 12 inches.i dont think anything like that will happen but it would be nice
no not on that scale. but its similar in the respect that the first piece of energy ended up being weaker than the second. were seeing that trend in the GFS/ETA/and EC ---- but all three have different ideas as to the placement of the best lift (heaviest QPF) and coastal cyclogenesis.

Down to a nice toast -1.5 degrees and we are expecting to bottom out around -4 to -6 tonight. Not a cloud in the sky. Its going to be hard to see how we are going to get a lot mixing taking place in Punxsy. Will start a thread sometime tomorrow...but just wanted to let you know where we stand for the night.

Yea, it's really cold out there...But it looks like everybody in Western PA is going to get above freezing Monday. Some really juicy warm air coming up from the south, and unlike east of the Apps, we have no mountains to block it
