NWS progged us here in N VA to top out at 25 degrees...........we are at 35 degrees right now.............
IMHO..........The northeast is going to get hit hard by this particular arctic blast, and it will probably break a few records in the Northeast.
But the same airmass is only glancing the MA..............and modifying some as it encounters the bare ground which is playing a role in warming temps up a notch or two. Tomorrow we are progged for 35 again.
We'll see cooler temps over the next 36 to 48 hrs.................but the extreme cold in the NE will by and large glance off the MA.
This milder regime is setting the stage for expected mix to rain or outright plain rain this weekend into Monday.......if anyone on the MA was worried about a dry January.......don't be. We're gonna make up for the dryness soon enough with this upcoming soaker.
