Unfortunately, the Euro is better for more long term events. However, if the Euro did verify it would be a nice hit for PHL/ C NJ north. I dont know how reliable the euro is within 48 hrs.

The ECMWF is by far, not the best SR model to use ... it's getting to go time, and it's time to look at radar trends, GFS/ETA/RUC/SREF ...

Euro in the short range (<24hr) range sometimes suddenly departs from its prior consistent track, that's why it's a poor shortrange model. But when it shows the same storm position it did yesterday (same valid time), it certainly is a factor to be considered in deciding what will occur.

Agreed about the Euro. Not exactly the best model to use in the short range, as we are within 48 hours of the event. Best advice is to use the ETA, GFS, and MM5 models for QPF output. All in All, looks like a decent hit for folks in the PHL, NYC area. Jackpot (6-8) should be somewhere along the central-north Jersey coast. While most surronding areas recieve a nice 3-6 inch snowfall. Have not seen what the Euro implies about the weekend event, it will be close. IMO 18z GFS run was a step in the right direction, for those wanting a SECS later next weekend. Thats all for now. :)

The clipper does look impressive on sattelite currently...not on radar, but hey maybe EC is on to something with the strength of this when it gets offshore
