EURO Day 8-10 3 day average .. Northern Hemisphere View
With the recent SOI trends negative the past week or so, lends credence that the pattern SHOULD be more progressive and this s/w should easily eject out the SW. Furthermore, colder air is POISED to enter the Central/Eastern US ... ala +PNA ridging, and a wildly looking -NAO setup ... taking literally, this looks like a HUGE OVERRUNNING EVENT with implications of another cold air blast ... VERY INTERESTING ....

SF, I agree. The new ECMWF would imply winter is here to stay, at least for the next 8-10 days. I believe there will be a few more chances for some type of SECS "IF" the weekend storm does not play out. Looks to be an active pattern, and part 1 (Cold Air) will already be in place. We got the bread, we just need the butter....

We finally may not have to wait much longer .. as DT alluded to in the other thread ... and even better, the Southland which has been so screwed in recent winters, might finally have a storm to talk about ...

I enjoy cold air. I'll take the cold air, and let the heavy accumulating snows cover the Southeast to a depth of 3 feet. I am talking about the SOUTH getting that snow, NOT N VA.
If such a pattern can happen, then let it take place!!!!!

With that much cold air, the NE and MA will NOT get much snow..............but the Southeast will, and I would be kind of unhappy, but I want the Southeast to quit getting so screwed and to start getting snow after snow after snow after snow after snow. It is HIGH TIME that the snow-starved Southeast should get some serious snows, and the pattern for it may actually verify!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
With such a pattern, I will miss snow after snow after snow; it will occur in North Carolina and south, and there will be no snowy jebwalk for me. It won't be easy. But I am all for such a pattern. Because the Southeast hardly ever sees significant snow, and I want them to experience significant snow, and I am willing to be screwed over and over again so they can have lots of snow. Oh it won't be easy...............but when North Carolina and South Carolina and Tennessee and Georgia get 15 inches of snow, followed by 12 more, then 8 more, then my heart will LEAP FOR JOY!!!!! Because I know the joy of snow, and I want the Southeast to know it too!!!!!
Hell YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Give it to them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IF IT IS POSSIBLE.........Then Let's ROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I, for one, would LOVE to see a prolonged bout of wintry weather events, but as climo tells us, just doesn't happen, simply due to timing issues. Generally speaking, the moisture will be there, but the cold isn't or vice versa. Conditions have to be almost absolutely perfect for a decent event, and even WHEN it does get brutally cold in the Southeast, it's also usually dry.
Tonight's ECMWF gives the Southland some hope ...
