How do you read the EMCWF???

Yea but it doesnt show precip all it shows is colors I dont get it what is it supposed to tell you???

Its the old grade school rule... I before E and E before C in ECMWF ;-)

You can't get precip output from the ECMWF. As far as colors, you can change the format so it can be viewed as lines, etc (on the Plymouth site). The options for the Euro are quite limited, but you can view stuff like surface pressure, 700mb RH, 850mb RH, 850mb temps, 500mb heights, 850mb wind speed, and some more...

The ECMWF doesn't give the QPF's (publicly, anyway) ... and only certain aspects are available to the public. For the Ensembles and other parameters (including the 00z run in-house and forecasting agencies like the NCEP, NASA, etc. only for the time being) and costs BIG $$$ to access for the private sector.

The ECMWF's strength is the overall accuracy in the MR with pattern recognition.
