Lawrence Kansas Observation

#1 Postby sertorius » Sun Jan 04, 2004 2:06 pm

I hope I don't bore anyone with this, but this is what we got in Lawrence-We had small amounts of ice and sleet-not huge, but enough to take my 4 year old on a 2 hour sled ride behind my bike this morning!!! (My own Jeb walk!! LOL) We missed the brunt again, but like I said, it is better than 38 degrees and rain!! Oh well-this looks like our last shot at winter for a while-temps. back in the 40's to 50's by next weekend after 2 days of pretty cold weather. I'm back to school tomorrow trying to teach high school students why so many lost their heads in the French Revolution-Thanks for a great two weeks of weather discussion and have a great start to the new year everyone. Maybe this area can get something later in the month or in Feb. but I'm really not holding my breath. Talk to you soon!!! Peace out

Looks like the cold air is here for at least a few days. Where are you at in Lawrence?

My step-dad is in Topeka and said this morning they got about 1/4" of ice. Is he losing it??

I live on the South West side of Lawrence out by Clinton Lake-Lawrence has exploded the past 10 years-we just moved here from Kansas City last Jan. (My wife is from Lawrence and we both went to school at KU) Our area was fields and trees in the 80's and early 90's-now there are houses almost to the dam of the lake!!! We had some ice-all we got-1/4 of an inch is not too far off-prob. less-just enough to pull my son around behind my bike!! It was fun-no bulls eye (again) but better than rain and 38!!
