It's been 16 years since Tampa saw flurries, nearly 40 since they had a dusting.

Tampa NWS Discussion:
As we head into Saturday night we could still see some wrap around moisture
associated with the low along with dropping temperatures. Models
over the last couple of cycle have slowly increased the probability
of seeing some Gulf Effect Flurries or even a rain/snow mix over our
coastal areas. This is supported by a strong northwesterly wind and
a big difference between water temperatures and air temperature.
Even though surface temperatures as the time will be slightly above
freezing the Wet Bulb Temperatures look to be at or below freezing
which would also support flurries.

I read the forecast discussions for tomorrow night across most of Florida. Much of the Peninsula is forecast to break not only record lows for the dates but the lowest recorded February temperatures. :cold: Up here in Tallahassee we’re forecast to hit 19 tomorrow night. Record cold for the date but still not 1899. lol

They're forecasting a high here tomorrow of 34 with 40 mph gusts. 18 tomorrow night with 30 mph gusts. I think I might be ready for spring.
I see where they have issued hurricane force wind warnings off the Carolina coast. Nasty system.

In the funny papers, the 00Z just buried north Alabama in another one to two feet of pseudosnow in 300 hrs. Even showed it snowing in the Gulf but left a "no snow for you" wedge over my area.

There is a band of snow showers from Marianna/Chipley to Bainbridge headed southeast! I might get some flurries in the coming hours! :D

It actually snowed here! We had a couple of brief snow showers a few minutes ago! Nothing stuck with temps around 35 but amazing nonetheless. This is the second year in a row with snow in Tallahassee. I don’t think that’s ever happened in the 200-year record.

Strong NW winds with 10 second readings of 50 mph and gusts to 56 mph blowing into the west coast of Florida. Some power outages on the beaches but not too bad. Carolina coastline will probably take a beating from high surf as there will likely be hurricane force winds offshore.
