Latest AFD from Mobile:

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION...UPDATE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MOBILE AL
1030 PM CDT SAT APR 7 2007

00Z NEW ORLEANS RAOB SOUNDING PROFILE SHOWING THAT ANY SNOW
GENERATED ABOVE 700 MB WILL FALL THROUGH A THIN LAYER OF ABOVE
FREEZING TEMPERATURES AROUND 7500 FEET...ALLOWING FOR PARTIAL
MELTING. THE PRECIPITATION WILL THEN ENCOUNTER SUB-FREEZING
TEMPERATURES ON IT`S JOURNEY TO EARTH...PROVIDING AN ENVIRONMENT FOR
SLEET TO DEVELOP. ALTHOUGH CURRENT TEMPERATURES ARE ABOVE FREEZING
IN THE BOUNDARY BELOW 2500 FEET...THE VERY DRY AIR IN THIS REGION
WILL RESULT IN BELOW ZERO WET BULB TEMPERATURES AND INHIBIT MELTING
AND/OR SUBLIMATION OF SOME SLEET. NO ACCUMULATION OF SLEET IS
EXPECTED AT THIS TIME...SO ROADS SHOULD NOT BE ADVERSELY AFFECTED.
WILL CONTINUE THE MENTION SLEET THROUGH THE MORNING HOURS...AS THE
PRECIPITATION GRADUALLY EXPANDS NORTHWARD. HOWEVER...SOME SLEET CAN
OCCUR WITH SURFACE TEMPERATURES AROUND 50 DEGREES...SO IT MAY LAST
INTO THE AFTERNOON HOURS.

Talk about eating my words!

NWS radar showing some moderate precip ready to make its way onshore in Harrison County, light precip developing in southern Mobile County. With an overnight minimum expected to be around 31, it should be very interesting indeed.

Looks like frosty bunnies this Easter. My tomato plants are a foot tall. Luckily they are in buckets and I could bring them in.

Looks like the snow is spreading eastward into MS on the radar now.
