If it were up to me, you could have all the cold air you wanted head your way, it would ruin my yard in Texas. I think some people on this forum are INSANE, honestly I can't fathom why anyone in their right mind would actually wish for the kind of Arctic blasts we used to see in the '80s in Texas and the SE. They were extremely destructive. I'm no weatherman at all but this situation is reminding me uncomfortably of the winter of 1988-89. Some expert please tell me it ain't so
-60F in Alaska...Brrrr, it's getting mighty cold up there..

Because we had an insanely warm winter, especially January, and all the while this big mass of very cold air was pooling up in Alaska. Eventually in early February it broke loose. They kept comparing it at the time to the horrible freeze of 1951; fortunately it wasn't THAT destructive but it did stay below freezing for 3 days straight in San Antonio. And warm winter after warm winter sounds awfully good to me, if I wanted cold I would move!

wow. latest runs of the Euro continue to just bring in more and more cold air into Alaska and Canada. I am really beginning to fear that a huge (to the levels of 88-89) arctic outbreak may be on the way, and it will probably surprise many (because knowing the GFS; it won't catch on until the day it is happening. lol.)

Here is one site that has a 7-day Euro:

go to ECMWF and scroll down to NA view (under ECMWF). From there a bar of options will appear on the left hand side. Simply click on whatever you want to see. This site also contains many other models.
