PHOTOS - Chicago Event Jan 20

#1 Postby lospantalones » Sat Jan 21, 2006 12:19 pm

Location: Deerfield, IL. About 40 miles north of Downtown, Chicago in Lake County.
Heavy convective thundersnow for a couple hours last night. We never had a period of rain up here, and ended up with around 9 inches. Received over two inches an hour during the convective band.
Enjoy!

Beautiful pictures, the ones of giant snowflakes falling in the dark are always amazing, I have a few of those as well. Unfortunately, no snow in over a month now kind of nixes any chance I have of pictures like those right now.

Any chance you could send some of that down around DC? Oh well . . .

My sister-in-law lives in Barrington, IL. They received 12 inches of snow from this storm. It's a winter wonderland she says.
