What is wrong with the GFS? It's still thinking that it's Still February.
And also, Texas Snowman, just wait 1-2 months, it will eventually materialize. (But I personally hope it's not a 2013 Redux)

Re: Texas Spring 2022
Eh as long as we don't get another 2 week cold snap in April like we have the last 4 years, then I guess I'll deal with whatever cold we may get in March.

Re: Texas Spring 2022
Hey everyone! It has been a while. January to March was cold at my location. I had around 15 freezes which is well above normal. I am in agreement that winter is not over yet. This year also has that potential late Easter cold-snap feel to it. However, I did not remember hearing thunder in February this year, so maybe no frost in April? As far as rain goes, I think we may be in for a few surprises. For example, Houston recorded its 5th wettest January this year which is not typical for La Niña. Despite this winter being mostly drier than normal, I would not be shocked to see a similar pattern to last year: dry in early spring, then turning wetter. I certainly do not trust any of the climate models forecasts. Just my opinion, but I think they are weighing ENSO too heavily.

3/11 is the day I'm supposed to drive home for spring break and if we get cold and/or snow or whatever during spring break I'm not gonna be happy

Does this have a legit chance? I was just getting used to the warm weather though I will take cold anytime of year. Bring it.

I think it's funny that this map was just released by the CPC, but their forecast for March temperatures is above-normal. They did not do well on the February outlook, but maybe they are thinking it will be a scorcher towards the end of the month? A whole week of below-normal temperatures will mean that temperatures will have to be well-above normal later this month.

I agree. It’s like everyone decided to stop posting just cuz meteorological winter ended.

I think it’s another, much sadder reason that has nothing to do with weather.

Several runs of the GFS had a snowstorm for Oklahoma and the Red River area but it was seemingly getting weaker as runs progressed.

The world is going to heck, so it's kind of hard to focus on weather now, but that GEM gets my attention. Since it will be at the end of the week, I won't mind it verifying (which it won't anyway). Just need the rest of the week so I can have kids churning out yearbook spreads to finish the book.

Well that’s definitely not gonna stop me personally from focusing on the weather but maybe that’s just me.

Re: Texas Spring 2022
I am excited to see some cooler weather coming, even if it's not that cold. Anything to avoid the torch starting early.
